how to bring people to your blog

Creating a blog is the easy part, bringing people to your blog is where the real work begins. Most new bloggers think that after they have created a website, people will automatically appear.

This is not the case. Once you have your website published, you need to market it to build an audience. There are many different free advertising platforms you have access to.

You don’t need to fork out money for paid advertising if you are just getting your business off the ground. Although, if you are interested in paid advertising, I am a huge supporter of Facebook Ads.

With Facebook ads, you can start a campaign for as little as a dollar a day and get your blog seen by a large audience. However, in this post, I will give you tips on how to advertise without spending a cent.

Crafting Captivating Content

First and foremost, the cornerstone of any successful blog lies in its content. Your posts need to be informative, engaging, and valuable to your target audience. Identify your niche and create content that addresses the needs, interests, and pain points of your readers. Whether it’s through how-to guides, informative articles, personal anecdotes, or thought-provoking insights, make sure your content resonates with your audience and leaves them wanting more.

Free marketing methods to grow your website traffic

Social Media

Social media should be your main marketing method! There are a lot of social media platforms but I recommend focusing on a select few platforms. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to use every platform which results in wasted time and no results. Instead, it is beneficial to invest your hard work in just a few.

Social media platforms serve as bustling hubs of activity, offering immense potential for driving traffic to your blog. Build a strong presence on platforms like Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram, where your target audience is most active.

Share your blog posts regularly, engage with your followers, participate in relevant communities and discussions, and leverage visual content to capture attention. Encourage social sharing by adding social sharing buttons to your blog posts, making it easy for readers to spread the word.

Pinterest

Pinterest is hands down the best social media platform for blogs! Thousands of bloggers have skyrocketed their traffic and sales through Pinterest alone. Pinterest is essentially a search engine just like Google only full of beautiful images.

This platform is extremely beneficial for bloggers because it allows you to link your posts directly from your pins. With Pinterest, you create specific boards to showcase your work.

By using eye-catching bright images, you are able to attract people and convince them to visit your website. This boosts SEO, increases page views and ranks your website higher on Google.

Using Pinterest takes strategy, it’s more than just pinning images. There is actually a lot of strategy that goes into succeeding with Pinterest. In our Ebook, I provide you with a full Pinterest strategy to explode your website traffic.

Facebook Groups

If you really want to get personal with potential readers, participating in Facegroup groups are awesome. People share their personal struggles in groups and also ask for advice.

By engaging in daily threads, you have the opportunity to help people with your blog posts and increase your affiliate sales. You would be surprised at how many people ask for product recommendations in Facebook groups. This would be your opportunity to direct them to your affiliate posts.

In addition, many groups allow you to advertise your services on a set day during the week or on multiple days. This is a great way to gain exposure! To begin, search Facebook groups related to your niche. I recommend joining 10 groups and then participating regularly in 3 or 4.

You will find that only a few groups work for you, this is totally normal. Each group has a different tone and everyone relates to certain ones more than others.

Instagram

Instagram is the best platform for your readers to really get to know you on a personal level! This platform is all about sharing photos and it is a great way to let your audience in on your daily life.

People want to relate to you on a personal level. Once you build strong relationships with your audience and they begin to trust you, your sales will increase.

Instagram is great for showing your audience what goes on “behind the scenes” in your life. Blogging isn’t just about writing content, it is also about becoming a positive influence to others. Positivity and strength attract others.

Quorra

Quorra is a forum where people ask questions regarding specific subjects. This is an excellent platform to gain readers and increase your website traffic. Forums gives you the opportunity to use your expertise to help someone solve a problem.

Once you have given your advice, you can link your blog post and direct them to your site for more helpful information. Not many people talk about using Quorra, it’s almost like a best-hidden secret.

I recommend using Quorra once or twice a week to answer a couple of questions related to your niche. Make sure that your answer is long and detailed. If you provide an answer full of value, people will in return visit your website in hopes to learn more.

Guest Posts

Guest posting is the best technique to gain exposure with an already established audience. It is also a great way to gain credibility faster. Collaborating with other bloggers and influencers in your niche will expand your reach and introduce your blog to new audiences. Seek out opportunities for guest blogging on established platforms, contribute to roundup posts, participate in podcast interviews, or collaborate on joint projects.

By aligning yourself with influencers and thoughtful leaders in your industry, you can leverage their credibility and reach to drive traffic back to your blog. Imagine writing an article for a popular blog in your niche. Your content is automatically placed in front of thousands of readers. If those readers love your content, they will visit your website. Guest blogging is a win-win situation for both yourself and the blog you are writing for. You are gaining more readers and they are in return receiving free content.

I suggest reaching out to popular bloggers in your niche and asking if they would be interested in working with you. Do not get discouraged if you experience rejection but instead remain persistent. First impressions are everything so make sure you are fully prepared to pitch your offer before you reach out.

Optimize every post for SEO

SEO (search engine optimization) techniques should be utilized in every piece of content you write. SEO ensures that you are ranking high in search engines. To rank high on Google search pages, there are some important techniques you should be applying when creating a blog post.

SEO can get overwhelming and confusing quickly. I cover a full segment on how to use SEO to optimize your blog. I also explain the best SEO techniques in our Ebook: How to Create A Blog: The 7 Vital Steps

There are quite a few techniques but I will just touch on a few for now.  The first thing you should be doing is using primary keywords throughout your content. I recommend downloading the keywords everywhere extension

This extension provides you with keyword suggestions that will help your content rank high. It’s important to group your primary keywords naturally into your content so your writing does not come off as generic.

Another important SEO technique is to add internal links to your blog posts. Internal links bring readers to different pages on your site. I recommend adding links to your other blog posts in your content. By encouraging readers to click on links and visit multiple pages on your blog, Google will begin to rank your website higher.

Analyzing and Iterating

Finally, don’t forget the importance of data-driven insights in refining your traffic generation strategies. Utilize analytics tools such as Google Analytics to track key metrics like website traffic, user behavior, and conversion rates. Identify which channels and tactics are driving the most traffic to your blog, and continually refine your approach based on these insights. Experiment with different strategies, A/B test your headlines and calls-to-action, and stay agile in adapting to changing trends and audience preferences.

Time to build your audience!

Generating traffic to your blog requires a combination of strategic planning, compelling content creation, and regular promotion. By implementing these proven strategies and staying attuned to the evolving digital marketing methods, you can unlock the secrets to attracting and retaining a loyal audience for your blog.
